Google disappoints Indians. No Diwali Doodle
While earlier this week the US President, Barack Obama celebrated Diwali and lit a cermonial lamp at the White House to 'symbolize victory of light over darkness', Google seems to have given Diwali Doodle a skip. Google amongst many things is known for its Doodles. Over the years Google has celebrated important events, birthdays, holidays and festivals but what is disappointing this year is the fact that Google seems to have given a miss to Diwali (Festival of lights) celebrated by Indians across the globe.
While last year Google had celebrated the festival, this year it seems to have ignored it. (Image shows Diwali 2008 Doodle)
Following is comparison between Google Doodles for China and India this year till date.
The above clearly depicts absence of certain important events for Indians worldwide most of all are the Republic day and Independence day.

There seems to be an element of biasedness
