Consim India Pvt. Ltd. sues Google

As per reports on CNBC TV18, Consim India Pvt. Ltd. has sued Google for trademark infringement. In its petition filed with Madras High Court Consim has said that it had trademarked tamilmatrimony.com, telegumatrimony, bharatrimony.com, bengalimatrimony.com and muslimmatrimony.com hence Google should not allow ads on those trademarks. Currently if any Google user searches for "Telugu Matrimony", Google displays ads of bharatmatrimony's competitors viz. shaadi.com, jeevansathi.com, etc.

Consim has asked Google and its competitors like shaadi.com, jeevansathi.com, simply marry.com to surrender all creatives which infringe Consim’s trademarks. Consim has also asked for Rs 10.05 lakh towards damages.

This is ridiculous! Yahoo search does the same thing but consim wont dare sue them, thanx to the funding they received by Yahoo in the recent years! check up what I foudn on yahoo search http://search.yahoo.com/search?rd=r1&p=shaadi... (the first ad on the right hand side column) Its a bharatmatrimony ad using shaadi as a keyword! going by their case, they should sue themselves for this, isnt it? does consim take us for being an oblivious audience?!
